Hello, I'm Pennell Elaine Drake

Most of my core memories have nature at the center: being dazzled by the greens of springtime, electric sky colors at sunset, riverboat trips watching beavers and waterbirds, lightning bugs at twilight to light my way home.

The anchor to this magical world of seasonal discovery was a house of makers: Dad would build something, Mom would paint it, and then they’d sell it at a local market. I learned how to make, build, draw and paint, and it’s been a journey of trying every art medium and hobby ever since. After a lifetime of exploration, one of the most steady pleasures I have is to simply draw what I see, embellish it, love it, share it.

My creations are a pass-through gift from nature, to me, to you: a kind of balm in a fragmented and challenging world. I founded Nellie Lane Press to share this lifelong love of nature through hand-drawn, immersive experiences that hopefully add a little joy to your day.
